High above the busy streets of New York, Aurora crouched on the ledge of the adjacent building of the TCRI Lab. Twin katanas slung on her hip and a kunai spinning precariously around her pointer finger, her purple eyes watched as light after light in the large building descended into darkness. It was quitting time and Aurora needed as many people clear of the building before she made her way inside.
She had been doing her own investigation into a slew of people disappearing in New York over the past couple of months. Most had been homeless or the unwanted but the numbers were staggering. Who was taking them? Where were they going, and the rumors alone of the experiments they were being subjected too were bone chilling.
After countless interrogations, the information she had coerced out of her prey lead Aurora to TCRI Tower and a doctor named Baxter Stockman. Along with their obscure babblings of purple ooze and a madman named Shredder they talked about large mutants. Were these people being turned into mutants and what did a mutant look like? God what was she talking about, there was no such thing as a mutants. Either way, it didn’t matter, it was time to put a stop to all this.
Slipping the black kunai back into the holster on her thigh, Aurora checked the time and stood back to her full height. “Alright Dr Stockman, lets see what you’ve been working on.”
It was hot in the subway tonight and even the racing wind from the train they road did nothing for the sweltering heat. Leo watched his brothers cling impatiently to the top of the train racing towards their present target, the TCRI Lab. It had been a little bit since their last mission so excitement was definitely in the air.
Donnie had happened upon a chat room on the dark web about the missing homeless and a found Stockman mentioned in several of the feeds. So deciding it was time to pull on that thread Donnie hacked into the secure main frame and found the intel to be accurate.
Several hidden emails between Stockman and Saki had talked about the missing homeless and several of their failed experiments. They were trying to recreate the outcome from a experiment that had happened almost 20 years ago with Erik Saks. Testing involving four unknown test subjects, which had to be about them, along with an accidental mutation around the same time that they had been lost just a year ago. The emails had started conveniently around the same time the public had become aware of the dwindling homeless population. As Donnie scanned through the more recent communications between Stockman and Saki he found Stockman growing more and more excited, more sure of the progress he was making. And from the email sent out three days ago he had done what he set out to do. The product they were now calling ‘The Ooze’ had produced two new mutants, a rhinoceros and a warthog.
Saki was now on his way from Japan to claim his prize and the rendezvous was tonight at TCRI Tower after hours. They had to get that ooze from Stockman before he could hand it off to Saki. They couldn’t let anymore people be kidnapped and transformed into mutants. That was their schtick.
As the train slowed down for their stop Leo motioned for his brothers to dismount the train and head up to the streets. It was time to put an end to this madness.
