This 1900 converted barn in Hunter, NY is delightful, but it's got a lot to do with the whimsical way they decorated it. 4bds, 4ba, 3,298sqft, $799k (Zillow's est.: $754,700)

It must have taken a long time and a lot of money to collect all the wonderful things they have in here.

That's one of two Bob's Big Boy's. There's another one out on the deck.

Although, the house does have good bones, like these windows in the dining room.

Offers for this artist's loft were supposed to be in by Dec. 8th, but it still seems to be listed. The artist owners deconstructed a 19th cen. corn crib barn to make it an artist's loft. It's also part reimagined 1910 neighborhood grocery store. The 2bd, 2ba, 1,575sqft home in Knoxville, TN will probably be renovated by the new owner and the artist loft will be gone. Asking $415k.

It's a one-of-a-kind home. It looks messy, but that's their style.

I feel like buyers wouldn't understand the concept of deconstruction and a reimagined space.

I love places like this, but very few would appreciate it. I wonder if they even got any offers.

There are still original elements of the barn, but I can see someone coming in here and turning it into a modern farmhouse a la Jo Anna Gaines. A barndominium.

Look at the kitchen. Love the backsplash.

The walls are reminiscent of city graffiti. The floors are one big painting.

What an interesting house- located in the Historic Federal Hill District of Baltimore, MD, the 1793 home is the former Civil War residence of Union Gen. Benjamin F. Butler, has a jail in the basement, and is a flounder house- an architectural style named for it's resemblance to a fish, with a sloped roof, windowless wall on one side, and all openings on the opposite side. 6bds, 4ba, 2,632sqft, $825k.

The property also includes a finished barn that is currently a separate residence. Isn't that heart sweet?

I didn't expect it to be so pretty inside.

How cozy. Love the beams, exposed brick, and interesting fireplace.

Across the hall there's a spacious dining room.

Kind of disappointed in the modern kitchen. It's nice, but this is a 1789 house.

This room is used as a plant room w/a nice chair for reading, tea, etc.

This room has a nice brick wall.

There's a narrow porch along the side.

Look at the cobwebs on the cellar stairs. Strong original wood doors.

This is unusual. It's like a building within a room. They've got built-in seating, so maybe it was used for a specific purpose.

There's some shelving here, and sliding glass doors to the kitchen.

The spacious kitchen is nice. Love the brick.

As you climb the stairs to the 2nd level, that window gives it a colorful glow.

This would be a bedroom.

This is bd. #2. I wonder if the layout was planned or just built as they went along, b/c the rooms are so disjointed.

It has a nice little deck on the side.

The house and barn are connected by a courtyard and often go unnoticed amidst the bustling neighborhood. 0.12 acre lot.

I don't usually like barn conversions, but I love this 1803 barn in Easton, PA. 3bds, 3ba, $849K. (Is it just me who gets a pang of jealousy when I see that a listing I like is pending?)

This is nice, it doesn't have that modern farmhouse look.

I think that it looks more Zen & Bohemian.

This is a little awkward, though. Is that a ladder in there?

The kitchen and dining areas are a little barn-ish.

Little heat stove next to the kitchen counter.

They show the kitchen on the floor plan, but this is all that they show of it in the listing.

Cozy family room under the loft.

There's a den up here, and it looks like some art supplies, also.

I don't usually like barn conversions, but these 1900 barns in Pleasant Valley, NY are so skillfully done, they're really beautiful. 3bds, 2.5ba, 2,820 sq ft, $1.695m.

The wood is so well-preserved. It's light and airy, and I like the lighting fixtures.

The living room is huge and has such a wonderful, unobstructed view.

The old barnwood and doors are all original. It even looks like an original ladder that goes up to an old hayloft.

The thing that does come mind, however, is even though it's big and beautiful, what kind of heating bill do they get in the New York winter?

This is different. They painted the dated cabinets red and whitewashed the wood.

Quite a large kitchen that features a fireplace.

What pretty blue subway tiles.

The primary suite is very large.

The smaller bedroom is so cozy.

The subway tile baths are all so lovely.

The 3rd bedroom is larger and has a pitched ceiling.

This house by the pool is just as beautiful.

It has the cutest little red living room.

What a great poolhouse.

The kitchen cabinets match the red walls in the living room.

And, it has the cutest red bedroom.

It's a guesthouse, but it would be a wonderful place to live in year round.
