Young architect Ricardo Bofill fell in love with this huge, derelict concrete factory in Spain. Some of the silos were still filled with concrete and had to be demolished.
It took him 45 years to complete. Look at his long hair and bell bottoms!
One of the first things he did was start to plant lots of greenery. It took 45 yrs., but this is spectacular.
How unique and amazing is this?
Of course he left as many silos as possible- look at the doorways carved in them to make rooms. So cool.
And, these big ol’ hoppers are spectacular.
He built around original features so it retains it’s history.
And, this is his bedroom, a place where he says he can think. What a stunning home.
