Note: mini touken fic continuing from my last one. Just some shameless fluff dabble really. Enjoy~
Touka leaned over, fiddling with the dials on the old oven in front of her, twisting them each in an almost frantic way as she realised nothing was happening. Kaneki, on the other hand, stood a small distance away from her tying his apron on with his eyes watching her and an amused smirk appearing on his lips.
His gaze wandered down to Touka’s rear, which was sticking out quite suggestively, even though he knew better than to let his thoughts trail off that way. Especially after the last time they cooked together. Despite this, he couldn’t help but question if Touka still felt sore from the night before. He licked his lips at the memory retuning to mind, his hand raising hesitantly to reach out towards her–
“Kaneki! this stupid thing isn’t working!”
Touka turned her head to him, eyes locked on to his hand that was raised in the air. Kaneki turned bright red as he lowered it and rubbed the back of his head.
“Kaneki.” Touka straightened, her hands on her hips and a brow raised. “Is there something you want?”
“N-No, touka-chan.” He shook his head, his hand moved to rub his chin and went to stand by her side. “What is it you needed help with?”
“Shitty liar.” He yelped out slightly when she pinched his cheek, but her tone was playful, trying to hold back her giggles. “Anyway, the oven isn’t working.”
After both fiddled with it some more before they finally got it to work without causing a gas leak and they had already started preparing the meal they were about to cook. They had both been choosing different recipes to try out at night and with any spare moment they were given alone together, they would meet in the kitchen to experiment with new meals to feed their growing child. They had already made a few other meals, (without them burning up like the first time), baking some cupcakes and going on to somewhat more complicated meals like Tendon.
For once, kaneki finally felt that he could do something for touka and his child, the idea that touka was too afraid to even ask kaneki to buy her human food always a constant worry in mind. However, like this together, they could work as one, even if for a brief moment and so kaneki relished every second of it. Of course, others didn’t agree to him wasting so much time, but with the pressures of the rapid aging pressing down heavily against his mind, he couldn’t afford to lose a moment with his wife. Not one second.
“You ok?” Touka nudged him, offering an encouraging smile. She was so beautiful when she smiled, his heart instantly filled with sickening warmth. How was he blessed with such an angel?
“Of course.” He planted a kiss on her temple as he continued to chop the vegetables. “I’m always fine when I’m with you.”
“So cheesy.” Touka blushed, not paying attention to her hand that drifted near the already boiling pot in front of her whilst she lifted it up to hide her blushing cheeks. “Shit!”
She flinched back, her hand clutching the now burnt other, constantly swearing under her breath whilst kaneki quickly came to her side to inspect the injury. He took her injured hand gently into his and guided her to the tap, running the burn under the cold water thoroughly, his thumb rubbing over the sore patch of skin. Touka’s breathing finally slowed and kaneki turned the tap off, but continued to hold her hand in between his, his brows furrowed. She sighed and shook her head with a smile.
“I’m fine, kaneki.” She lifted his head with her other hand, caressing his cheek. “You don’t need to get so worked up about this little thing.”
“But I worry.” He leaned into her touch, his eyes falling shut. “I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“It’ll heal.” Though she suspected that he wasn’t referring to her burn. “See? It’s already practically gone.”
He looked down, soothing the already fading soreness with his fingers, lightly brushing them across her skin and sent shivers through her. With a slight smirk, he leaned down and pressed his lips onto the burn gently, kissing it softly before he trailed more down her slim arms.
“K-Kaneki.” Touka gasped. He moved to her neck, biting lightly into her skin, his teeth grazed against her ear and her hands clutched his shirt tightly. “The food…”
He stepped back, touka already breathing heavily, the excitement that built up inside her crumbling away from the loss of his touch. Looking up, she saw her husband pout slightly, his cuteness pleading her for more whilst silently asking her for permission.
“Well,” touka chuckled. “I guess the food can wait. You were so sweet to me then…”
She stepped closer, kaneki’s grin widening as he wrapped his arms around her waist and tugged her against in, already leaning in towards her lips. However, he doesn’t reach hers and when he opened his eyes, he saw one of touka’s cupcakes from the side in front of him, blocking him from touka. She burst out laughing at his bewildered expression, tossing the cake aside, but kaneki felt too embarrassed to join in with her laughter, the poor guy looking away.
“Aw, don’t be embarrassed.” She teased, continuing to giggle between her words. “You’re so cute.”
He tried to ignore her, but when she started to kiss his neck, he couldn’t help but let out a slight whimper, pulling touka closer and her arms wrapped around the back of his neck. She pressed her lips against his ear, her hot breath giving kaneki goosebumps with the promise of something more. Something intense.
“I’ll make it up to you.” She whispered seductively, her voice like silk against his ear. “Can you forgive me if I promise to be a good girl?”
Kaneki’s knees buckled at the suggestion, his hands gripping onto her hips tightly.
Suffice to say, the food got burnt. Again.
