The Rashomon Effect

Based on the 1950 Akira Kurosawa movie of the same name, Rashomon, which tells the same story from four different perspectives, all seemingly plausible yet mutually contradictory. The movie was revolutionary in its time for rejecting the notion of a reliable narrator.

Over time, The Rashomon Effect became a popular plot device, as well as the byword for human fallibility. Basically, the movie demonstrates in a pretty nifty way that we cannot help but lie to ourselves, and thus to everybody else. Instead of a movie reel, our memory is a play we put on for ourselves, each time a little different and inherently biased to make ourselves look good.

January 27th stateside, I believe... Definitely a fun little commercial that just hypes me up a bit more for this game. Still need to finish the first one though :/ but I dig the overall game mechanics of shifting gravity and that old school, days gone by 3rd person platforming element that was such a big genre back in the early starting rise of 3D games.
