“Castiel?” Dean scoffed. “What kind of name is Castiel?”
“It’s actually the name of the angel of Thursday,” a deep voice sounded behind him. Dean swung around to face the unfamiliar voice. “But also means ‘the cover of God’.”
“Winchester, meet your new partner, Castiel Novak,” Captain Turner chuckled lightly from behind his large wooden desk. “Now get out. I know you’ve got a backed up case load Winchester.”
“Yes, sir,” Dean grumbled and stormed out of the captain’s office, the angel of Thursday hot on his heels.
For the next two hours, Dean reluctantly went over his case files with his new partner. Dean had been juggling newbies for the last six months since his last partner, Benny, transferred from the homicide division to fraud when his wife told him she was pregnant. Now he had his hands full with a rookie detective and one with a weird name at that.
Castiel was awkward at best as Dean watched him interact with people, just over the phone. He looked at his new partner, a confused look on his face.
“My people skills are rusty,” Castiel shrugged, placing the handset back in the cradle.
Oh this ought to be a fun fucking day, Dean thought to himself.
The rest of the day was spent running down a couple of fresh leads that had come in on a recent murder investigation. Dean spent the entire day trying to figure out how this guy got out of bed in the morning without hurting himself. He was clueless. His tie was crooked and turned ass backwards. Every single time he badged someone, the damn thing was upside down. Dean sighed as he called in their dinner break and they sat down at a local joint that had great burgers.
“Listen, I’m not saying you don’t know what you’re doing, but how come I ain’t heard nothing about you before today?” Dean questioned his new partner like he would a perpetrator.
“Cash. Now! Empty it!” A loud voice boomed through the small storefront just as their food was delivered. Dean waved the server to hide and he reached his hand down to unholster his weapon, flipping the safety off as he surveyed the scene.
“Hey, cover me,” Dean whispered to Castiel as he slid from the booth, his eyes never leaving the criminal at the cash register. Quick and sure footed, he moved stealthily until he was right behind the would be thief. “Police, put your hands up and no one gets hurt, okay?” His gun was pressed into the man’s back.
“I don’t think so, pig,” the man disagreed, his voice cocky for a man who had a gun pointed at him.
“Lawrence PD. Don’t move and I won’t have to hurt you for resisting arrest,” Dean informed him. Just then he heard the distinct sound of shotgun cocking.
The cashier stood wide eyed, a wad of cash in his hand as he looked from Dean to the gunman, to what Dean assumed was another gunman behind him.
“Lawrence Police! Drop the weapon and put your hands behind your head!” Castiel called out.
A shot rang out, followed by another. Dean fell to the ground, a burning sensation running up the back of his leg and into his right butt cheek. “Son of a bitch!”
Before Dean could register what happened, Castiel had cuffed both perps, the second one bleeding from a gunshot wound to the left leg.
“What the hell?” Dean looked from Castiel to the cuffed men.
“My people skills might be rusty, but I graduated at the top of my class. I’m good at what I do,” Castiel smirked.
“So, I guess I owe you an apology, huh?” Dean said to Castiel as he was being loaded into the ambulance.
“No apology necessary, Dean. A thank you would be nice, though,” he smiled, his bright blue eyes shining in the fading sunlight.
“Hey, Cas? I’m sorry, and thanks,” Dean shook his head, not sure how he had read his new partner so wrong.
“We’re partners Dean. I will always have your back, or in this case, your backside,” Castiel smiled as the medic closed the door, not missing the look of confusion on Dean’s face.
Did you like it? The nicest thing you can do for a writer is reblog their work and tell them, and others, how much you like it!
Castiel was sure that Dean enjoyed this part of the job far too much. He held on tightly, one hand on the roof handle and the other clutching his notepad to the seat.
It had been an average day until the black SUV that they'd been looking for in connection with a robbery, came haring past them; Dean hadn't even warned him that he was about to give chase, turning on the lights and sirens.
Castiel glanced over at Dean who was grinning widely and Dean glanced over at him. “Come on, Cas, live a little,” he said and Castiel scowled - he would be having stern words with his partner (and husband) once they got back to the station.
Summary: Castiel is the only prince in the long line of werewolves, soon to inherit all of his father’s rule. He until then occupies his time as a very known and respectable cop who just so happens to hate the owner of the roadhouse bar. Dean winchester is a human man who cares too much about money and doesn’t cut off his patrons till their card declines. Castiel hates him. Especially since Castiel has to come clean up their mess, and deal with the drunks every night.
After one drunken mistake, Castiel accidentally ends up mated to Dean, which is suppose to be IMPOSSIBLE! But if that wasn’t also a problem. Castiel is ALREADY engaged to a female chosen at birth to be his mate. He needs to clean up his mess ASAP. However, the only way he seemed to come up with is...to kill Dean...
Easier said than done, when all of Castiel’s plots to murder Dean keep end up with their clothes on the floor.
Comments: 8/10. If I remember correctly, there’s no actual smut, but it’s still pretty good. Set in a world where werewolfs and humans live in peace, only thing is that the humans don’t know it. Cas is a cop who helps Dean home every night after taking care of the rowdy drunks in the Roadhouse, and one night Dean invites him in. Cas eventually falls in love with Dean, after numerous failed attempts of murder, but then Cas’s father finds out.
What do you think castiel would do for a job? And I hope you have a great day ❤️
Hi!! I can see Cas in all kind of jobs! I see him as a professor - astrophysics, please, teaching people about the wonders of Universe, explaining the miracle that is our existence using the universal language of the world; math. He would make people fall in love with it, explaining everything in that beautifully deep, rough voice. I see him as a doctor, surgeon maybe, someone who devotes his life to helping others - he has all the skills; sure hands and the kind of calm authority that will prevent people from panicking even in really stressful situation. I can see him as a cop, one that loves people more than the law - he would never punish anyone who steals some food because they were hungry; like hell, he would just buy them more. And he would have no problem with kicking the ass of someone who is an awful person but always slips through their fingers because there still are some loopholes in the law. He would be this kind of cop who believes that justice is not always the same as following all the rules.
(Dean!Serial killer/ soul mate- Dean hates his counter and got it removed when he was sixteen. Can be dark but doesn't have to)~~ 10 years, 3 months, 2 weeks, 16 days, 9 minutes. Castiel, like every other human on this planet, had a counter on his wrist, counting down the days till he would meet his future 'soul-mate'. He had always had an itching for his counter to go down to 0000. He absently stared at it in school, day dreaming about who his soul mate would be. ~~ 6 years, 8 months, 1 week, 5 days, 19 hours, 5 minutes left. the number always seemed to high, to out of reach. One by one the counters turned to 0000 around him as his friends and college classmates grouped up. His daydreams dwindled down and he focused more on his career, it seemed as if the number would never come. ~~ 0 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, 1 day, 30 minutes. His parents had been murdered when he was a child so he had focused his life on catching the people who destroyed people's life's like his own parents' killers had. He had been put on a new case of a serial killer duo and had been so intent on the case that he barely noticed his counter ticking down. ~~ 0 years, 0 months, 0 weeks, 1 day, 4 hours, 2 minutes. He hadn't meant to be caught. He had been being careful as he tracked the two killers through a small city. he remembered being distracted by a throbbing in his wrist before being dragged into an alley And then... Nothing. ~~ Next thing he knew he was tied to a plastic chair in a dank room. He was beaten and bloody yet still struggled against the restraints. When the door opened he froze, hissing through his teeth as a searing heat trembled up his body. He was too distracted and pumped of adrenaline to notice the 0000 on his wrist. (Continue as Dean?) get this, stripper!AU where dean is a stripper on the side to make money to send sam to college (because someone has to take care of him) and cas and gabe are the cops who have to come break up a fight when a customer get too handsy with dean (who usually makes bank working the ladies night and the guys night) i had more to add to this but i forgot a bit of it
!!!!!!!Nonnie! It’s awesome as it is ❤︎Cas would glance at Dean all the time, getting flustered because he’s a damn professional, but the young man is simply beautiful. Gabe would rise his eyebrows at him what Cas would ignore, knowing that he would have to deal with his comments fot the next week or longer. Now though, he will make sure the man who can’t keep his hands to himself will regret it.( Let’s be honest it’s not like Dean didn’t notice the handsome cop with deep blue eyes and the most spectacular sex hair, ever. He might be angry as fuck and still kinda high on adrenaline, but he’s not blind. And he might have a slight uniform kink, fine. )
ok but get this: mafia boss!dean meets detective!cas through charlie who is dean's right-hand woman because she gets caught as a look-out during a job & cas decides to make her an informant instead of arresting her (since he's so frustrated he's never been able to get any evidence on the scariest & slipperiest mob boss in the city aka dean winchester) but since charlie is loyal af she feeds him info on all their rivals instead & finally he (cas) gets fed up & threatens her so dean arranges (1/2)
(2/2) a meeting between him & cas in order to 'thank him' for all his help with his competition (via a long walk on a short pier) but then decides cas is way too interesting (& attractive) to kill [ok but picture one of dean's goons going to pull a bag off cas' head when he gets to their secret hideout and dean is just struck by how gorgeous cas is *cue line about cas' pretty blue eyes*]
Imagine how pissed Cas would be tho you would think he would be terrified but all Dean sees are those cold blue eyes and he hears a gruff “oh fuck off” let’s just say Cas has a history of getting into trouble
