9 + 10/100: I worked on some SQL queries because I forgot everything. I really hate how unprepared I feel about everything. Then, I had this one interview where I thought I was going to do really poorly. But, I didn’t do too bad! These SQL queries helped :) I certainly don’t think I’ll make the on-site. But, maybe, there’s a chance. I quite like the company. It’d be so great to work here!  My to do list is piling up really high. So, as much as I want to go to sleep, I’ll at least draft up all the emails I need to send. I have more interviews coming up and I really need to study for them all! Hoping I feel very motivated the next few days. Also, y’all. 300+ minutes on Forest! Godsend app!

It’s the best work grind song. It’s upbeat but, not too distracting. Whenever I really need to focus, I put this on repeat.

12/100: I studied a good bit and my interview went well, I think! I realized that there was a better way to solve the problem after the interview. So, I went and implemented that and emailed the better solution to my interviewer. I felt good about studying and really knowing my stuff.

5/100: I didn’t take notes on anything today. I wrote this git review sheet a few days ago. I applied to a bunch of jobs so I’m hoping something comes out of it! I absolutely love my MUJI monthly planner! I don’t have a lot to do everyday so it helps to see how I can plan out weeks to achieve my goals. In college, I used to do both daily and weekly plans.

To be honest, this is clear cut. I want a job in the SF/Bay Area. That is my one and only goal.

May 1st, 2017: April Reflection [#maystudychallenge by @theyrestudying​]

I started my studyblr in April so that was really great! I’m constantly in awe of this wonderful community and I hope that I get to inspire some of y’all like y’all have inspired me!

In all honesty, I wanted a job by now. In retrospect, I see where I could have been working harder. But, I can also see that it was a stretch goal. So, I will continue to work hard to get a job through the month of May! 

My mental health deteriorated quite a bit this past month because I felt guilty for not working hard enough and thus, not achieving my goals. I hope this month, I am capable of doing more, achieving more, and thus, being happier. It is beyond crucial for me to get a job by the end of the month. I’m hoping and praying for the best!

This is one of my favorite books because it’s such a quick read. But, every time I read it, I learn something new about myself, my flawed perspective, and reality can sometimes seem surreal. Through the month of April, I kept this near my desk as a reminder to look at my world through another lens.

7/100: I worked on a company’s coding sample in Java. I wanted to show my scratch sheet because I’m not always super neat and clean. While understanding the problem, my thoughts are messy, unorganized and my scratch sheet reflects that. But, I have some test cases. I figured out what the problem wanted and how to solve it efficiently. Then, I started coding away. It’s totally okay to be messy as long as it makes sense to you! I downloaded the Forest app on my phone and it is somewhat helpful. At the end of the night, I wrote these quotes on a sticky note because I’ve been feeling unmotivated, tired, and guilty for not working hard enough.
