It's Cora Appreciation Week guys!!!!
Okay so here is why I love Cora: -She deeply wants to be accepted and loved for who she is and that need sometimes seems overwhelming. She learns from it though and ends up stronger and even more confident. The game highlights this well by making her go from the one constantly looking for a mentor to her becoming a mentor herself. I especially liked that the first thing she tells Ryder about Vederia is that Vederia's going to need support. Support. -She cares deeply about others and the hurt done to them. She sees injustice and goes red in a second. -She recognizes her own prejudicial thoughts and apologizes when that happens. She did this with Drack. -I had a lot of concern when it was revealed that she should have been made Pathfinder instead of Ryder but the way she handled it was professional. Sure, she expressed her dismay about Alec's decision (and she had the right to do it considering...) but she seemed more worried about the consequences the decision would have on the mission as a whole than about the fact that she didn’t get the position. She also showed Ryder her support, reassured them and made sure they and everyone knew who was in charge. She did this from beginning to end. -She is extremely self-aware. She is fully capable of analyzing her own flaws and sees where she went wrong and why. That's rare. She also acts on her analysis. -Some people might see her as too serious but having her around honestly reassured me every time. She has that calming effect and that professionalism that made me feel that we would deal with everything Andromeda would throw at us and come out okay. -Her dreams of a garden, traveling with a partner, ... She's a romantic. That doesn't stop her from dealing with reality in the most efficient way she can. -I find her smile adorable. Actually, all of her is adorable :))))
