During the prayers of the faithful today, from a parishioner: “I’d like us to pray for us as a church to fight racial injustice, economic inequality, for women’s rights, for an end to gun violence, and to remember that one of the hardest Roman Catholic fighters for this is Nancy Pelosi. *insert ‘Yeah!’ and a few ‘Amen!’s* For this we pray to the Lord.”

Spoken today at my San Francisco Catholic parish. Cordileone is NOT the Catholic Church, and we are not him.

I was overjoyed to attend Christmas Mass at the Cathedral and was fortunate to have Archbishop Cordileone bless my 1962 Missal and Green Scapular.

The mass was a Novus Ordo mass with Gregorian chant music. Their organist was amazing as well as the choral singers.

I'm not sure if Archbishop Cordileone celebrates Latin Mass in SF, but I would love to see him lead a Solemn High Mass someday.

Cordileone just said trans acceptance will cause us to revert to child sacrifice and will evaporate all Church teaching, causing nothing we say to make sense (as if all of church teaching today makes sense…). To make matters worse he made these remarks at a conference promoting the ultimate reversion to the Latin Mass.

When he was bishop of Oakland, a diocese plagued my street violence, he chose to promote the Latin Mass. At a time when priests were critiqued as being aloof and ill-informed of the needs of the parishioners, he stressed priests to learn chanting. Amidst the severe economic inequality and financial challenges of the inner-city poor, he chose hating gay marriage as his sole social issue.

Cordileone is a tyrant and must be stopped. He does not speak for me, and most in the diocese/archdiocese don’t consider him their pastor.

Sulpician Fr. James McKearney has been forced to resign as rector and president of St. Patrick Seminary and University in Menlo Park, Calif., a surprise event some call an appropriate change in leadership and others decry as "brutal" and "confusing." McKearney's sudden removal by San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone stunned students and faculty and the Sulpician himself. What is Cordileone up to? I find it impossible to believe that he quickly forced a resignation because enrollment went down.

The more I find out about Cordileone, the more I see him as a model of everything a bishop could possibly do wrong.
