Kyle's decision to not walk away and his reasons why made me think about what I think is one of this season's themes: protecting the people you love. So far we have gotten it from Alex who joined Deep Sky because he wants to create a world that Michael would feel safe in. Then we have Liz who started this season trying to find a way to save Maria's mind. Next is Michael who realizes that he has to work on himself to put the people that matter first. Also Max who was determined to drive Liz away because he thought that it would be easier on her if they weren't together when he died. Then we have Isobel who is hell-bent on defeating Jones to protect the lives of her family. Also we've had Maria who (foolishly) was willing to make her health worse to save the life of someone she considers family. Rosa, who faced her fear of losing control of her new powers to save her best friend. And then there is Kyle. Who despite himself, has grown to care about the pod squad and wants to make sure they are protected from those who would do them harm. I'm just proud of all of them. Our babies are finally growing up!
