(1/24 scale) 'One door closes...' I've always wanted an excuse to do a miniature fire extinguisher and now I've found a reason... I used a straw, BB pellet and then plasticard cut to shape oh and some electrical wire. (1/24 scale) 'When one door closes...' The whole point of this piece was to initially communicate the positive attitude that can be applied to life that when one door closes another opens, where that may lead and what that might look like are to be found out by you. I slowly developed this idea by adding in elements that suggest this further. The fire extinguisher represents the desperation that I have felt at times in life and that I tried my best to put the fire out but it wasn't enough and so the fire still burns behind the door... I was maybe trapped in my own head space, a lobby of sorts searching for an answer to my future and brushing any failures under the carpet. It was only by looking back through my memories and reconnecting with myself that I found the next chapter. I read things that maybe pushed me in a forward direction and made me believe that a door was there. Once I dealt with any failures I realised that a new door had opened infront of me. I perhaps wanted to go back many times but instead I read the 'do not disturb' sign and continued into the light of what ever my new adventure held for me...
