Corona in Holland, part who knows
So, there was another corona press conference just now.
The biggest news is that:
a. the 1½-metres-apart-at-all-times-rule will no longer be mandatory starting September 25 (it’s still an advice)
and
b. we’ll finally have to use a corona-pass to enter restaurants (and pubs and the like) and theatres and cinemas and concerts (hotels and museums were not mentioned) (also starting September 25)
Mouth mask are now only still mandatory in public transport, but our prime minister emphasized that everyone is of course free to still wear them wherever they want, like in the supermarkets (I do!).
Lots of people are screaming about how the coronapass takes away their freedom (which of course is a load of bullshit) but I’m happy we’re getting it. I saw how well it works when I was in France last month. I loved feeling safe in museums and restaurants, knowing everyone around me was safe to be around. I didn’t mind having to show it at all, I would bounce happily, asking my wonderful friends “do I need to show the thing? Do I? Do I?” and they would patiently go “yes Hib, show your pass sanitaire, show the thing”. It was NICE.
The working-from-home rule still stands. I don’t think I’ll ever see the inside of my workplace again.
And the anti-vaxxers can yell and scream about their rights all they want, but for one thing I never heard them cry about “medical apartheid” all those years gay/bi men couldn’t donate blood (which actually WAS medical apartheid), and for another thing: choices have consequences, Brian. Your freedom not to get vaxxed takes away the freedom from someone who can’t get vaxxed because of health problems. A corona pass makes sure this doesn’t happen anymore. Die mad about it.
