15 Things That Make Me Happy

In no sort of order. Except for number one. That's always top.

I got tagged by wintertummy and this ended up being super long so it's behind a cut.

1. Singing/Music - I have cried many times trying to explain to people what this gift means to me. I can't properly put it into words. Happy is an understatement. A crime.

2. Quality time with my brothers, who are growing up way so fast that that time is always shrinking. I plan to have children one day and my biggest fear is that they'll pale in comparison to my brothers.

3. My Bachelor's Degree - Speechless again.

4. Feminism - I have not always been surrounded by strong women. I actually didn't know what a strong woman really was until I went off to college. I didn't feel my true worth and I didn't feel empowered in any way. I let my lack of belief in myself, the belief that I was lesser get in the way of what truly made me happy. The other side of that, being who you are without shame or apology, is so goddamned wonderful.

5. Learning something new - Whether it's a word, an action, a fact about another person, whatever the concept, I appreciate it.

7. Stars - the kind that are in the sky. Celebrities actually make me feel pretty self-conscious. But I love laying down and watching stars shine bright above my head and getting lost in its enormity.

8. History - I majored in it. It's wonderful and full of life lessons and it's so fucking interesting. How the world we live in came to be, I just sit back at marvel at the triumphs and the tragedies.

9. Theatre - I also majored in this! I love acting. As a creative medium, it's right behind music for me. I love the freedom to be someone else and the energy that comes with putting yourself out there. I love what it can evoke in a person. It is a such an ethereal form of art. No performance is the same. Not one. That is amazing.

10. Golden Girls - I've watched this show since I was in diapers. I watched this show when it was on Lifetime and my mom was working the shift that allowed her to get home just in time. As a senior in my high school, you get a free block. The first or the fourth. I picked the first so I could get to watch this show. This show means the world to me. It's countless memories, a big part of my feminine make-up, and it's home.

11. Superheroes - I didn't grow up on comics. I grew up on Saturday morning cartoons and I loved my cartoons. I loved them fighting against the forces of evil (however they range), working to make the world a better and safer place which then transferred to a love of not only fictional heroes but the ones in the real world. Fictional or real, a hero saves someone in some way and that's the point.

12. Walking around in a city at night. I love bustling life and people who are like me and don't sleep when they should. The best stories happen at night. The people who say nothing good happens are midnight have not lived.

13. Chris Evans - Is that awful? I mean, he had to appear at some point. I don't know the man from Adam. There's no way for that to happen. However, what a human being.

14. Cupcakes. I'll do anything for a motherfucking cupcake.

15. Reading - Escaping to another world, falling for another person's words, meeting a character that you ultimately care for, tearing over a situation that isn't your own, being angry about it. The ability for this to travel with you wherever you go is awesome.

Thanks for the responses guys!  I think, in the end, I'm just gonna stick with 'McCoy' for all the times that Jim isn't speaking to him directly.  I'm too lazy to change it all anyway.  OTL But it is an interesting topic, and it's great hearing what all you guys think/prefer :D
