( corrupt-crab) not quite batty

Oof, everything hurt…. Admittedly, Brier hadn’t expected to be snatched out of the air by a young crab, much less did she expect the much larger one who made it let her go, then proceeded to turn into a human and give her a place to rest. She had been sitting there a while, still in bat form, absolutely baffled but grateful for the rescue. Her mysterious savior finally left the room for something at some point, and that was when Brier transformed back to her usual humanoid form, though still just as battered.

Raruraru was minding his own business, in human form and size as he was resting on a rock until he heard the sudden boo and he jumped a bit with a yelp. “Love, don’t scare me like that!” He scowled, thinking that it was just Hepohepo scaring him again.

Jess rushed with lots of presents and food and flowers in hand, panting as she stopped nearby. After getting fixed by Dominic, she had to apologize to her mates, starting with Brier. She wanted to surprise her with gifts and love, so she stayed quiet and poked her head slightly in to hear what was going on.

Brier had just stayed with Hemo since she had arrived and they had their moment, cuddling and talking, practically just clinging to Hemo and showering her with affection the entire time. 

It was just so nice, a blossoming new relationship with somebody so beautiful and understanding, even if she had lost another equally so, even if just for now… As well as that, some part of her knew she’d probably regress into sadness if she was left alone again, so she’d rather not be alone now. 

Running out of conversation topics without repeating herself, she had started singing softly again.

Half of what you think of me, 

I could do about anything, I could even learn how to love~🎶“

Hemo had done it! She made her sweet little crabling the perfect Halloween costume. She hurries to show Brier, looking proud as she holds up something made of orange and green fabric....

Brier looked over, now holding together in form notably more well than a few days ago.

“Hey, Hemo! What’s up?”

That’s when what Hemo was holding caught her eye.

“Aww!”

When it’s hemo’s turn to watch the egg. She simply stares into it. A grin on her face “ look at that... “

The silhouette inside was unmistakably a crab now, its features developed enough to see through the translucent egg. It would even move a little occasionally, the slightest little motions. 

It was still fairly small, but they all started out small… This one looked like it would be ready to hatch soon.

A small child stumbled towards briar, her little hands reaching up at her. The little girl had on a red dress, her hair short and curly. She had tan skin and a small beauty mark under her right eye.

Now, how did a human kid end up down here? “Well, hi there, kiddo!” Brier greeted her, kneeling to the little girl’s eye level and smiling softly. “Is somebody looking after you? Are you lost?”

Me: Everyone, let's be fair. The poor being is probably scared, alone, had a dark childhood. Let us consider-

Me: LET HIS MAJESTY EXECUTE HER TO THE GROUND! OR AT LEAST BANISH HER AFTER TORTURING HER!

Hemo had come to check on Brier and their son, she was out for a bit checking on ruby and atarau- she grins as she approaches but.... where’s her mate?

Kanawa was fast asleep, curled up in a little blanket nest. Oddly enough, Brier was nowhere to be seen… But her clothes were on the floor, surrounded in a squirming mass of bugs.

Upon seeing Hemo, Brier was quick to establish she wasn’t an unwanted guest this time… After all, Hemo could crush any part of her with ease like this.

“Hemo! It’s me, Brier… Mind your step, please. All these bugs are me.”
