@corruptiive // alak ren.
sankofa (akan, n.) - “go back and fetch it”; to look back on the past in order to understand how we became what we are, and move forward to a better future
it was a relief to see the other knight of ren, glad to see that slowly but surely, all of them seemed to be appearing in this time. it did not offer any sense for why they were here, but at least whatever it was, they would be able to face it as one collective. there were some obvious advantages to being stuck in the past, to seeing the downfall of the empire which would inevitably lead to the rise of the first order. inquisitors had existed before the knights of ren, and truthfully, aiya did not know what had happened to them after the empire had fallen. they assumed that they had fallen with them.
even if the first order fell, it was important to aiya that they knights did not. they had existed before the first order and would continue to exist after.
“i’m sure the others will be here soon.” optimism was not something that they embraced. instead, it only seemed like the most logical follow-up to finding alak. “i’ve been spying on the rebellion for long enough. i need a break.” it was frustrating, to say the least, to play a role. it was something aiya wasn’t suited for. “the inquisitors are here. some of them still remain, i’m sure.”
