This whole “Dot cake vs cortadillo” nonsense is just nonsense. It’s hate for the sake of getting mad at nothing. It’s performative hate. Most of yall don’t even know what you’re talking about anyways!

“Dot cake” is just a branding name one specific bakery has given to a vanilla cake served in a round cup.

If you ordered a cortadillo and got funfetti in a cup, you would be offended by that as well! To conflate the two is an actual insult to Mexican culture.

Why are we judging people’s morality based on fucking cake!?

I’m trying not to #bake too much lately but I had to make this #cake! It’s called #cortadillo and it’s delicious! It’s a staple in #Mexican #bakeries and is one of the special #pandulce that gets wrapped up in wax paper so that it arrives home in perfect condition! It is usually cut into squares or triangle shapes. I have to say this #homemade version tastes just like the one from the bakery.
