One of my quail must have run out of ink.
[ID: a hand holds two small eggs, one is heavily spotted with brown the other has only tiny tiny speckles of brown]
Sunny-side-up eggs on a cracker. Can you tell I'm having fun with these? [ID: three tiny sunny-side-up eggs sprinkled with pepper are each sitting on a round cracker]
They’re so small!
[ID: 1. A hand holds three small off-white eggs with brown spots and speckles. 2. The three eggs sit in an egg carton next to a typical grocery store chicken egg. The small eggs are approximately one fifth the size of the chicken egg]
One of the quail laid an egg without a shell. It's so weird to have a tiny bag of egg. Nothing's wrong with the bird, frequently weird things happen when they're starting to lay. [ID: a hand holds an egg without a shell. The membrane that’s normally attached to the shell holds the egg together without leaking]
Surprise breakfast for F! Next time I'll cut the holes even smaller, quail eggs are tiny. (or, more likely, I’ll use 2-3 eggs)
[ID: two bulls-eyes (fried egg cooked in the center of a piece of bread) on a plate, the eggs don’t reach all of the edges of the hole]
Meet Nugget and Nugget's first egg!
We've gotten cortunix quail. They're supposed to have a better feed-to-egg conversion rate than chickens. Plus, they're quiet and smaller so it's much less likely for the neighbors to notice/care. They sound more like wild birds.
I'm just so excited to have fresh eggs again!
[ID: 1. A hand holds a hand-sized, chicken-like, white bird. 2. A hand holds a small off-white egg with brown spots and speckles.]
