I find myself thinking back to N.v.D’s defeat of late.
No, more precisely, the man himself. There are questions unanswered to fill these pages thrice over. When did Bahamut first touch him? How much of his actions in Eorzea were influenced by the Lord of Wyrms & Dalamud? What would have occurred had he remain untouched? Why was he chosen, of the Legatii and Tribunii of Garlemald? And the new questions that arose thanks to the occurrences in the Coil….
Many questions I imagine can be easily answered, but any who know are unreachable to me.
Why was Bahamut so intent on corrupting that one man, that he would not allow him to be lost to death? One could almost pity that fate. Pity that man, were he truly not himself.
I have seen many men tempered in my years, but nothing like what Bahamut does to those he so desires. It inspires naught but sympathy for the victims, be they enemy of Eorzea….or beloved ally.
[There’s a blank section of the page, and then whatever was written is scribbled out.]
Would I accompany Lady Alisaie on her next venture…would I spare her the pain of that which we must do? Could I bring myself to do it? I feel it should be me.
