Just to prove that I actually AM getting things done, here's a crappy progress shot. The dressform isn't padded all the way so the bodice looks awful like this, I promise it's way less gross and lumpy when it's actually on me, I really just threw it on there hastily for a picture. The skirt is still being patterned, that's a bedsheet from goodwill you see there that I'm using as a a mock-up before I even order my final fabric. 👍🏻 I went the appliqué route for the star cutout since I'm in a corset underneath the bodice, plus it also gives me something's to anchor the gem to rather than my oily skin. You can see the little hole there for the wiring to go through, I'm trying to set everything up so all of the switches are hidden in the layers of the skirts where I can get to them easily/remove them if the costume needs cleaning. The wig and resin supplies still haven't shipped so I'm getting a little nervous, but I'm way ahead of where I usually am at this point in the season so I actually have some wiggle room for once!
