I graduated college with ethnic studies and film. I am planning to go back to grad school next year. I have been spending all my time baking, drinking wine, and arts and crafts! You absolutely fell in more love with Ashton when he told you that he wanted to have people over and do arts and crafts. 

When everyone arrived, you got all the paint out as well as blank canvases. Ashton stared at you with admiration as you told the group that you all would be doing a Bob Ross paint along video. 

You pressed play on the remote and sat down next to Ashton as the video played. You smiled when you looked over and saw his tongue stuck out in concentration as he painted strokes. 

Soon enough, the video ended and everyone was showing off their paintings. Ashton stood up and picked up his glass of wine, getting the group’s attention. 

“For starters, I just wanted to thank everyone for being here tonight. I know that some of you aren’t artsy, like myself, but it was quite fun,” your friends nodded and agreed with your boyfriend. 

Ashton grabbed his canvas and got down on one knee in front of you. You gasped as you read the canvas that said “will you marry me?” Ashton pulled a box from his back pocket, revealing the diamond ring inside. “Will you do the honor of making me the happiest man alive?” 

“Yes! A thousand times yes!” Ashton slipped the ring onto your finger, embracing you into a tight hug. All of your friends cheered, the night being celebrated with more wine and lots of dancing.

He stares blankly at you, grip going slack on his wine glass. “You’re what?”

“I’m in love with you.” You whisper, much less confident than when you blurted the statement out.

“But, I told you not to fall in love with me. This was just… casual hooking up.” You scoff and he finally flinches.

“Right because this,” you gesture to the wine glasses, “Is casual hookup culture. Calum you paid for my meals when it was just the two of us! You spent every day with me until you went back on tour! You helped me move apartments. How could you not expect me to fall in love with you?” Calum shakes his head, rubbing a hand over his brow.

“That was just me being friendly.”

“Friends don’t do stuff like that! Calum, literally all of your friends told me you were in love with me. That you’d never done anything like this before, what was I supposed to think?!” You pull off Calum’s shirt, throwing it to the floor while you grab the one you had worn last night. “For someone who told me I shouldn’t fall in love with me, you made it pretty damn hard not to.” You shove the shirt on and grab your purse. “Goodbye Calum,” you pick your shoes up, leaving his apartment. Your finger hovers over Ashton’s number but decide against it. You know, no matter how hard he’ll deny it or wish it isn’t true, his loyalty lies with Calum. So you go home and sit on the couch, feeling more lonely than you have in a long time.

Can we talk about doctor cal and him being your doctor and your sick and in the hospital and he is always there for you and when he’s done with work he comes and checks on you before he leaves ugh. Like he falls in love with his patient and he doesn’t know what to do bc he knows he’s wrong.

okay so maybe he’s been your doctor since your diagnosis and maybe like every other weekend you have to come in for weekend long treatments/checkups and he always comes to chat and hang out when he gets off/during his breaks. He knows the food and coffee sucks so maybe after he learns what you like he starts bringing you breakfast/lunch/dinner and then eats the meal with you. Y’all slowly get to know each other over the time you’re his patient. Y’all both start to look forward to the weekends you have to spend in the hospital because it means y’all get to spend time together. The more y’all get to know each other the more he starts to fall for you, and it scares him. He knows it’s unethical to become romantically involved with his patient, but there’s just something about you that he just can’t help loving.

Maybe things are starting to clear up for you, you’re getting better and it won’t be long before you don’t have to come for treatments anymore. And he’s dreading it. Your weekends are his favorite things, he’s always looking forward to them, and it won’t be long before he won’t have them anymore. Maybe your last treatment falls on a weekend he’s off, out of town for a conference or a wedding, and he’s pretty distraught over it. He knows he won’t see you again until your six month check-up to make sure everything is still in the clear. When you arrive at the hospital and check-in to your usual room a different doctor comes to greet you and check-in on you. You’d ask where Calum was. They’d tell you he was out for the weekend and that their name was Dr. Clifford and that they’d be the one taking care of you that weekend. Since it’s your last treatment you make sure to leave him a “thank you” card that Dr. Clifford promises to give him, you’re his favorite y’know? he’d casually drops as he’s administering one of your treatments. The way your cheeks flare up and a small smile crosses your face tells him that the feelings his coworker and best friend have are mutual.

When Calum get’s the note, his name scrawled across in probably the most beautiful cursive he’s ever seen, he’s quick to open it and see what it says. Your words make his heart soar and break all at once. You tell him how much you appreciated his care and thoughtfulness and how you helped make the whole process that much easier to bare and how you don’t think you would have been able to make it through without him. You tell him how you looked forward to each weekend you spent there because it meant you got to spend time with him. You tell him that he meant more to you than he’d ever know and that you were going to miss him so much it felt like you were losing a part of yourself. After that he told himself that next time he saw you he was going to tell you how he felt. And maybe after your six month check-up he might pull you in for a long awaited kiss before letting you leave and promising to take you out to dinner.

Pls can you ramble about you being a singer too and cal surprising you on tour after months of being apart

oh okay so this is so cute because you and cal have both been on tour all summer with your respective bands. and the two of you had been dating for like a year now so it was serious at this point and you were both missing each other especially hard now that you had to be apart for your tours. it had been months now and neither of you even knew what city you were in at the moment and it was so hard to find times that worked for both of you. sure you had the fleeting facetime calls, but it just wasn’t hitting the spot. it wasn’t the same as hearing his voice in person and getting to touch him and just spend more than a few minutes to an hour with each other. calum knew how hard this has been on you because he was feeling the exact same thing. he knew that you were playing a show tomorrow in a city near a venue 5sos was playing the following day and for about a week now he had been begging management and the tour crew to let him get to the venue a day early so he could see you, he even had a whole plan mapped out where he would leave as soon as he finished his latest show so that he could make it to the next city in time for your show. he finally gave up and rented a car with the plan to sneak out after they finished playing. with the help of michael stalling he executed his plan perfectly and was in route to see you the following night. he hadn’t told you because he wanted to see the look of surprise on your sweet face when you saw him. he would want to be a dramatic little shit and make sure he got a spot right in the front row where you’d be looking. even with the crowd screaming and the lights in your eyes you saw him immediately and your heart soared in the best way possible watching your sweet boy beam up at you as the opening notes were played. the entire show would be stolen looks between each other as you struggled to pay attention to your set. during the encore cal would sneak back stage to meet you as soon as you got off so you could run into his strong arms. as the two of you are hugging and kissing backstage you remember that the distance and waiting is worth it as long as you always get to come home to calum
