#cosplay help needed

tl;dr: need tips/guides/etc to how i can make a cosplay of this guy

ive really wanted to make a cosplay/suit/costume of my main sona, carbon the chest mimic. ive even made a cardboard prototype and turned that into eva foam! however, im not sure i think its gonna turn out well. no one really has made a chest mimic costume like this from what i can find, so ive been winging it by myself. and i dont think winging it will turn out good.

my biggest problem is properly conveying that treasure chest look. my main issue is getting the top arch/curve to look right while still have room for eyes. Oh yeah, i want to have follow-me eyes. the vision will be a problem, i was thinking either mouth vision or a small gap between the planks on his forhead for me to see out of. not sure yet. I also am having trouble having the mouth slightly agape with the teeth showing, this guy has pretty narly teeth and want them to be shown. but it either just looks too floppy or you cant see the teeth at all.

anyway, this is what im asking for: i need help with any tips or points in the right direction. Anything will help. i just dont want this to turn out bad, carbon means a lot to me. i dont have pics of the prototype or what i have of the eva foam build so i hope its not too important!

i have had no luck getting help with this, so im trying here. genuinely anything helps. im not an expert. i would just commission someone to do this if i wasnt broke

Excuse my face, but I got a new wig today! Help me decide who to use it for? It's a horrible Ebay wig that is way too curly at the moment, I'm planning on straightening it just a bit!🍂I was planning on using it to cosplay MC from Mystic Messenger, but the colour is a little too bright. The picture doesn't really show, but the colour would actually be really good for Hanamaru from Love Live! Sunshine! So I was thinking maybe it would be a good idea to cut it and cosplay her instead? Of course, I'll have to drown it in baby powder no matter what...🙈

okay i had an idea for terezi horns. y’all know those hard-ish 3d foam shapes you had as a kid that you could build a castle out of? they were colourful and there were shapes like cubes and rectangular prisms and triangular prisms and bridge-arch shapes and semi/circular prisms(???) and stuff. the most important is those cone shapes because i distinctly remember them, unless i don’t, but i don’t remember the name of the blocks. i’ve been googling it and it’s only been giving me the 2d types of foam shapes. please send help. also, signal boost for the other lazy butts like me that just want some cones for tz bless

Thoughts on brute justice cosplay

So I've been contemplating different aspects of this cosplay and how to make them work. -Lighting- My first idea was vaguely dependent on some sort of strip lighting that I could cut into the right shapes. Electroluminescent tape fit that bill pretty well actually, but the cost would be outrageous for the amount I would need, and some of the areas that would need lighting wouldn't work well with the tape. I want to keep the light intensity and color consistent throught the cosplay so EL tape is pretty much out. I turned down led rope lighting because as far as I know there are just going to be dots of light every couple inches instead of the smooth consistent glow I want. My next idea was to find a way to mount electronic tea candle lights in the tops and bottoms of each 'tower' piece (not in the middle because I want to try to leave all of them hollow for flying/packing reasons) then cut out the glow areas and cover them with parchment paper to diffuse the light. Not a bad idea but I'm not sure how to get a good yellow and some areas wouldn't work well with this method, plus I would need to work out how to hook them up to some sort of switch. Then I thought about perhaps just painting the lit areas with glow in the dark paint. It may work even though it wouldn't show well in any of the bright areas of fanfest (a pretty big con really). It would probably be the easiest method but man, after searching today I discovered that it's hella hard to get large quantities of a warm yellow glow paint without spending like $90 and I'm trying to cut down on cost as much as I can to avoid my mother's wrath. Anybody else have any good ideas?

help with fur fabrics??

hey guys im planning on producing a vulpes inculta cosplay for a coming up convention and of course id need to create his trademark coyote hood to compete the look. i have a good idea on HOW to make it im just very lost on where i can get a good deal on good brown/pewter colored fabric. ive been doing some looking and havent found a lot of bang for my buck so if anyone can recommend some places where i can get good fur fabric at good prices thatd be a big help!! (im looking at you fursuiters)

If you made the drills yourself, were they lightweight and easy to wear for a long period of time? I’m planning on cosplaying as her next year and I’ll be somewhere for a whole day and going to a dance party.
