I added it up folks- the costume I’m currently working on (Triss Marigold from the Witcher 3) is my 30th costume since 2005. I’m kinda stunned that I’ve made that many, but also sad because I don’t have good pictures of most pieces before 2015. I actually found a selfie of me in Lightning’s cosplay from 2013 on my tumblr account. I was on there today, trying to find pictures for my “cosplay through the years” post I want to make. I added that Lightning selfie to this set for my #cosplayvscosplayer set, since it is an older picture of me. It’s getting late. I’m teaching that cosplay patterning class tomorrow, so I need my rest. Cosplay vs character. I started the T3 Vestments of Faith set in May and hand sketched and drafted all the patterns (except the sigil-rune thingys on the apron/butt cape - I traced those in adobe illustrator) and sewed it out of various shades of teal/blue silk and polyester satin. I was aiming for fidelity and proportional accuracy to the original 3D model from vanilla WoW.
