it's funny, you know, Wednesday morning

I was dressed nicely because I was going on a field trip that day, it was the early morning on the way to school on the bus

He relaxed back into his chair, a frown on his features.

"Sure, she makes me forget sometimes. That I'm not a mafia boss, but instead some CEO of a made up company who has a regular, mundane life. Someone who hasn't slept with practically every nationality you can think of, or killed more than 300 species of Pokemon lineage. Doesn't have to consider and plot and strategize to take over regions or hold business meetings. Hell, Matthew never has to deal with any Russos or Giselles either. Matthew has a normal life..."

I stared at him with furrowed brows.

"Matthew has Nadine. Duran doesn't. I mean fuck, can you blame me for wanting to just spend more time as a normal guy? I've been Duran for as long as I can fucking remember. When was the last time I was Matthew really? I thought I hated him, thought that Duran had it better.

"So, let me ask you one last time okay. Why does it fucking matter if I spend so much time with Nadine?"

I frowned at him.

"It matters because I think you're falling in love with her."

He blinked once.

I frowned at him, sighing and shaking my head. I leaned back into my seat and looked over at him.

"I see the way you look at her. Hell, I can feel how your stomach flips and your chest lightens when you hold her or when she smiles. You could hear her laughter go on for hours and you probably wouldn't get tired of it. You'd run your hands through her hair over and over again if it'd get her to melt entirely in your arms.

"You love her Matthew. Not Duran, not Mattie, not any-fucking-one else, but Matthew. You're just Matthew. And there is no doubt that he's as in love with her as you are. You're not two people.

His eyes were wide and he was speechless. He was actually quiet the rest of the ride.

I've thought about it before, I'm not going to lie--which girl hasn't, right? But it's... kind of funny, I guess?

Silver's the opposite of what I expected. Or at least, at first he was? Because I always pictured myself with someone smart but sweet and gentle, who can catch up with me whenever I was exercising or training, who understands and appreciates my need to complete every region's dex.
