I had a Crypt realization last night. Aria woke up in a coffin which could mean two things:

One: her fight with the Necrodancer positioned her in a way to conveniently fall into said coffin and die

OR TWO: The Necrodancer betrayed her and felt SOME WAY about it so he put her to rest. Not left her on the ground, not turned into a monster, but gave her proper burial rites.

And rewatching the cutscenes, ND just died on the ground. Got tired and stopped playing and fell over. But when Aria revived him he woke up in the SAME COFFIN which means she spent time moving him into the most comfortable place she could find, and he honored that by giving her the same treatment even though she tried to destroy the very thing keeping him alive.
