Hi, this has been bugging me for a long time. I have really had anxiety, and I'm wondering if maybe I'm experiencing psychosis too. I hear people insult me, but like it's not real, its hard to explain. I lack emotion sometimes, I see things at times, I'm always paranoid, I've tried to isolate myself. Should I try and talk to a counselor? And, these voices I hear, idk if they are alters or just voices. I can tell what they look like/other characteristics about them.

What you’re describing seems to be related to mental illness symptoms, I can’t tell if they’re actually psychosis or something different, but still they need proper care, especially if they’re interfering with your daily life.

If you have the possibility of seeing a councelor you should totally go, they can help you with the first steps of your treatment and tell you if you need to see anyone else. As for the voices being in doubt if they are alters, the same thing happened to me, I didn’t know if what I was experiencing were alters or voices, they ended up being hallucinations according to my doctors, so it’s good to get professional help to figure out what they really are.

I feel like theirs a gap in the market for a therapist, but like with a gimmick. What if I just have one of those tube men in my office, acting as a sound machine. It feels like the most ethical way to advertise too.
