on colors and being different and not being enough for yourself

My therapist once said “people don’t abandon the people they love, they abandon the people they’re using” and that was all the closure I needed.

I think that the answer "I don't know" when anyone asks you why did you self-harm should be valid and should be taken as a full response, but some of you are not ready for this conversation.
It’s been so interesting to go from forensic populations (where people will just openly admit to things you couldn’t get me to admit to with a car battery and jumper cables) to working for a university (where people won’t even admit to having human emotions without 15 minutes of motivational interviewing). 3 years ago I’d have someone casually confess to fucking wild crimes, unprompted, like they were talking about the weather, and now I can’t get someone to admit they’re sad about their entire family being devoured by 30-50 feral hogs.
