“Okay, ne-” Lily put her glass down with a louder than expected thud and she grimaced. “Oops, sorry, Reg.” She apologised at the horrified look that had appeared on Regulus’ face.
“It's fine,” Regulus gritted out. “No damage done.”
Regulus loved Lily, but she did get a bit too heavy handed when she'd been drinking. Last month, it had been a glass of red wine that she'd knocked over and James had had to throw away the new rug as the stain refused to budge.
“Honey, here,” Pandora moved the glass out of Lily's reach and Regulus silently thanked her. “Now, what were you going to say?”
“Oh, yeah, right,” Lily beamed at them all. “Who is the hottest Disney, or Pixar, character? I'll go first!” The group chuckled at Lily's enthusiasm. “Maid Marion, from Robin Hood!”
There were a couple nods of approval as the rest of the group took their turns.
Evan and Barty both agreed it was either Gill from Finding Nemo or Charles Muntz from Up. Although, Regulus suspected that had more to do with the voice actors.
Pandora chose Merrida, but said it was because of the hair and her spunky attitude, causing Lily to blush a deep crimson.
Remus went with Jim from Treasure Planet, whilst Sirius chose the Beast, throwing a salacious wink towards Remus, who smirked back. No longer embarrassed by Sirius’ flirting in public.
Dorcas chose Mirage from The Incredibles and Marlene went with Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Confirming them as their outfits for this year's Halloween party.
Then it was Regulus’ turn. But before he could answer, James wrapped an arm around his shoulder and proudly declared his husband to be his favourite Disney character.
When the group all looked at him quizzically, Regulus groaned as James told their friends that he and Reg were also doing a couples costume this year and that they were going as characters from Reg's favourite Disney film.
Barty cackled as the others took a minute to catch on. “So, which one of you is going as Kida?” He asked, delighted.
James held up his phone so the group could see a blushing Regulus dressed as Milo Thatch and a very proud James Potter dressed as Princess Kida.
The group exploded into raucous laughter, each complimenting James on his excellent choice of costume.
Regulus shook his head at his ridiculous husband, but he joined in the laughter as they continued to drink and ask daft questions.
