Slight Confrontation | Mae and Sophia
It was just about closing time at her shop. Mae's employees had gone home and she stayed behind to finish some things up. The drawers were counted down, everything was clean. All she really had to do was get some paperwork in order and then she could lock up and head home. She quickly went in to her back office and got everything together for tomorrow's opening. She was satisfied opening would go smoothly.
When she was done in the back she turned off all the lights. As she moved to the front she heard the door to shop open. "Sorry, we just closed for the night." She spoke in a pleasant tone before she looked up at the figure that entered the shop.
When Mae did look up, however, she slowed down and then froze in her place. It was none other than Sophia Batori standing in her shop. A puzzle look crossed her face and she felt a bit apprehensive. "Oh, Sophia," she tried not to show how apprehensive she was. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit tonight?"
New Job | Open
This was a job that Dahlia never saw herself doing, working retail. It wasn't glamorous, it paid less than working in security and she came to find out how annoying people could be. It didn't help that Dahlia was stuck working the returns counter. People were even more irritating when they were unsatisfied and had to return something.
So here she was, chin resting on her hand as she stood behind the counter. Today was a pretty slow day, which worked out just fine for her. Dahlia spent the past fifteen minutes thinking about how much she hated her retail uniform. It wasn't just the fact she hated uniforms in general, it was the fact that this particular uniform did not flatter her at all. This was not the job she saw herself doing at one hundred years old.
She was knocked out of her zone by somebody walking up to the desk. Instantly Dahlia took her chin off her hand, standing up straight and giving a smile. "Can I help you with something?"
Another Day At Work | Open
Caleb spent most of his morning dedicated to his work. More information had been gathered about the recent attacks and were piling in his office. But in time Caleb was drained. He didn't have Romy or Dahlia around to help him. His new secretary was a nightmare to work with. Even if it was only eleven, Caleb had to get out of the office.
He took some of the notes with him to the communal break room for the rest of the Council employees. It was far enough away from security where he felt at peace. Caleb scanned through some of the papers, but found most of his time spent staring out the window. He would look like a pretty bad head of security had anyone found him hiding in here...
Working Together
Tonight seemed to be another long night at the library. Books upon books were pilled in front of the brunette female seated at it. One was open and placed in front of her. A scattered mess of papers cluttered either side. It made her look so untidy and unkept, not that she really cared as long as shit got done.
This was always the boring part of the job. Kristen itched to get back out on the streets and do actual work. That was much more amusing than sitting at a table and going through books. Despite how mundane and boring the task before her was she grudgingly pushed through it. She did it for Max, he deserved that much for putting up with her on a daily basis.
For the most part she had done the work alone. Eventually her partner showed up to help with some work. Kristen found herself smiling at his arrival. Now she could push some books in front of him and get him to help her out, that and she did hate being by herself sometimes. This was one of those nights.
"Took you long enough," she teased as she moved some papers out of his way. "You know if you're going to keep cooped up inside all night you should at least get dinner. I am starving about now."
Pissed Off | Dahlia and Caleb
Dahlia had known Caleb to do some stupid things. They grew up together, nothing really surprised her and nothing got her too mad. While she wasn't surprised, now she was mad. At the start of the work day Dahlia stormed in to the office. She blew off a hello from the woman at the desk, throwing her things at her own little area before she made her way to Caleb's office.
She didn't bother to knock, just threw the door open. As he sat at his desk she glared at him. "Seriously?" That was the first word out of her mouth and even that sounded incredibly cold. "What the hell is wrong with you Caleb. I tell you to be nice to your sister and you do the exact opposite? Do you not get that she was just attacked?"
A Talk | Oliver and Max
Ever since Romy's attack Oliver found himself spending less time with Max and even less time hunting. It was the bakery, Romy's hospital room, home. There was not an in between and he felt there shouldn't have been an in between. His girlfriend and to an extent his younger sister needed him more than Max and Kristen needed him.
But Romy had been discharged and she seemed to be almost hundred percent better. So that meant it was back to work for dear old Oliver. He was looking forward to getting back to work. It seemed his boss and coworker was not so happy about it, at the very least they had a tone when they spoke on the phone.
As usual Oliver met Max at the library. The other man was reading and Oliver was hoping this wasn't going to be the talk from hell. Call it a gut feeling but it was probably going to be.
"Hello Max," he tried to keep a pleasant tone. "What's up? What did you want to talk about?"
A Morning at the Cafe
By now, it had been a few weeks since Mae's shop was destroyed. It seemed thanks to a handful of fairies, the place seemed to be back on track. Today was the first day it was opened after Mae finally received another register for the shop. It was great to see everything came along, especially after the difficult encounter Cameron had with Mae.
The old fairy sat in the back of the shop. He ordered himself a drink and took a break from his job search. Cameron was open for anyone to join him at his table. He was in a good mood and wanting a distraction. He had a newspaper in front of him as he casually sipped on his coffee. He was hoping the shop would be picking up sometime soon. Mae would need the business.
