it's winter break, and your cousin's family came down for the two weeks due to your cousin's pleas. they've always been so, so adamant on seeing you, and each time you two interacted, they couldn't keep their hands off of you. letting you borrow their jacket often, complimenting you a lot, showing you off to their friends... but you decided to take it as just them being adorably affectionate.

you're snuggled under the blankets of your soft, twin bed bedding. the dim room—save for the sliver of moonlight slipping through your curtains and blinds and the warm illumination of the nightlight plugged into a socket by your bedset,—surrounds your swaddled body. your cousin lies on the floor, upon an air mattress, back facing you.

you can't sleep. maybe it was the excitement of tomorrow and the possibilities; after all, you got to go the the amusement park! you toss your body to face the wall, letting your head become comfortable on your off-white, fluffed pillow.

your mind swarmed with what you might be able to see, do, experience. the ferris wheel? rollercoasters? winning plushies and impressing everyone? you couldn't help but grin at the thought.

finally, your brain started to slow. you allowed your desires about the next day to be delayed, for now. you felt your body become more lazy, and...

rustling from behind you; your cousin. you were too tired to care and check. possibly just tossing in their sleep.

but then, more. sitting up. probably getting up for the bathroom.

you hear a soft groan as they stand up, yet their footsteps don't track away, but rather towards. what were they doing??

the feeling of your body dipping just slightly from the change of pressure on the pallet startles you a little.

"what are you doing..?" you question, voice barely above a mumble,

"nothing," they answer drowsily. they lie behind you, forearm landing softly on your waist.

"you know i love you right?" their voice is hitting the back of your neck, but you couldn't care enough to tell, but it did send some shivers down your spine from the warmth. you feel like this question is accompanied by some emotions, not just platonic.

"yeah?" you reply, your tone going up a little at the end.

"good. because i do." they hold you closer, calm breaths rhythmically caressing your back.

you're not sure if you have a problem with that, though.

I've been paranoid since new years that I accidentally came out to my cousin. He was my childhood crush for years and meeting again as adults I still wanted him. This time he bought his girlfriend and she looks a bit like me except she's shorter (me and my cousin are the same height). His girlfriend says it was nice meeting me since she's heard so many stories about us growing up and how close we were.

I got really drunk on wine and was super close and touchy with his gf the entire evening until he got pissed and took her back home. My attraction is probably just lust but I'm scared it's too obvious and everyone knows.

Far be it from me to assert Truth about your life sitch from a tiny snippet of your life, but based only on the facts here I'd say it seems more likely that your cousin thinks you're into his gf, unless you have more reason to think you showed your attraction to him in particular and not just his girlfriend.

Of course, if you're secretly hoping that he picked up on your attraction to him, or hoping that you showed it more than you detail and don't quite remember, then I hope with you ♥️

I AM GOING TO CONNECTICON! I've been trying for weeks to register for a booth at ConnectiCon to sell fandom and unique hats. This will be my first time selling at the con, though I've been there two or three times. I am so excited for the opportunity; I hope it all works out!
