Nosferatu (F.W. Murnau 4 march, 1922) (Version with music by Art Zoyd 1988, the original film with a score composed by Hans Erdmann and pretending that it conveys the same horror effect of the time is something unthinkable.
...
This is the case of a classic silent expressionist film that, like others of the time such as Metropolis, Faust, is revised in time to create a new work taking advantage of its tremendous visual force. These revisions usually consist of creating a soundtrack that accompanies the images. It is also usual to play with the color in the frames making a mosaic of images, color and sound to create, starting from the original film, a new artistic proposal that should not be compared with the original, but as something new.
In this case we speak (because there are many more), of the version made of the film by the French group Art Zoyd with the unclassifiable Thierry Zaboitzeff at the front. Essential group that moves between progressive rock, jazz and avant music, and that has already covered other silent film classics.
Considering Art Zoyd's approaches to ballet, the result evokes Warholian multimedia performances. Multimedia show that tries to capture all the senses of the spectator.
