And Now, the covid news from Australia.

Despite doing relatively well, we're now into a second wave. 

Here’s our per 1 million, for comparison how well we are doing. 

The worst hit state is Victoria. It has gone back into full lockdown. 

This is being blamed on a combination of poor training of security and staff casualisation at commercial nursing homes, and the state government’s refusals  to call in extra federal help. 

Naturally, big the right wing media corp who own a lot of our newspapers are trying to paint it entirety the fault of the Victorian center-left government. 

 We've also got enquiries into a cruse ship which was allowed to disembark freely and why our aged care system wasn't prepared, with those governments getting at lot less media scrutiny.

My state's (NSW) borders with others are once again closed. You need permission to leave.

Masks are now somewhere between highly recommended and compulsory. With work taking me to several schools, in contact with lots of kids, I'm taking no chances

I've been printing out facesheild visor parts and mask holding "ear saver" straps and selling them locally through a group my Mum is in.

Anticipating needing a fair few more.

The Covid figures look “pretty good” today (I mean suspiciously low considering last week one day had 73K new cases and 1600 deaths).

Then we notice these states reported NO figures (and I know at least TN has the 6th highest rising number of cases)
