"Everyone just conformed."
And all you have to do is look around to realize that the ones who conformed the most, the easiest, the most vehemently... were the so-called "Non-Conformists."
They can be seen wearing the modern version of The Uniform, with a million different hair colors. With women uglifying themselves to show their loyalty to the feminist 'sisterhood.' With every possible permutation of androgyny and sexual deviance on intentional 'display.' The older generations of the same can be seen wearing The Uniform of their time: gray-haired men with long hair, women with the same, never longer than shoulder-length. Clothing such as flannel shirts, beads, and tie-dyed t-shirts that used to represent the 'rebels,' the 'working class,' draped unthinking over those who have been enjoying a wealthy retirement for decades. On the outside, there is every Virtue Signal being sent attempting to indicate "Independent Thinkers."
But on the inside, no one is more terrified Not To Conform.
If your entire vibe is an act, if you have no REAL peace in your soul, you will always default to Hiding Among The Crowd. Hidden within The Group™️, you'll at least 'feel safe' from being called out. You can put off being forced to confront yourself in the mirror for yet another year.
If this is who you are, hiding behind propaganda that you don't even want to know whether or not it's true... what is even the point? What are you doing with your life? Why are you sublimating your unique human identity beneath these absolute mountains of bullshit?
Why do you hate yourself so much?
