This #MooDay advertisement for Cow-Tone brand, uh, cow tone(?) comes from the 1926 pamphlet O. H. Cow Book: Guaranteed Preparations for Improving Cows and Increasing Milk Production, which taught me that “spider in the teat” is a thing. If it’s any consolation, I didn’t want to know that either. The pamphlet was published by the Lyndon, Vermont based Our Husbands Company and is part of the Hagley Library’s collection of trade catalogs and pamphlets.
