The darkness of the woods between campfires was always something deeply unsettling. Anything could lurk inbetween the shadows, and speaking of- someone or something had crept silently out of the underbrush, making no sound as they stepped expertly from their cover.

“Hey!”

The figure glanced to the side awkwardly. His iconic crow and cowboy hat were more visible now that he stood in the light, though his expression was hidden under the brim of his hat. Jake scratched his bird’s chin to busy a hand, the corvid almost purring.

“Sorry this is out of nowhere, but I couldn’t find the other S.T.A.R.S members. You wouldn’t happen to know who told Chris about Mitski? Guy scared the shit outta me, interrupting my walk to ask if ‘it was a drink.’”

“Told Chris about.. who?” She gave the cowboy a puzzled look. Yeah, Ada wasn’t exactly sure who Mitski was either. “Seeing as I don’t even know who Mitski is, I’m going to assume I also have no idea who could’ve told Chris. Although, I guess I can keep an ear out and let you know if I find out who did.”
