A cowlick is a small section of hair—often at the crown or hairline—that grows in a different direction, typically in a swirl or standing upright, opposing the rest of the hair's, pattern. Caused by a specific hair follicle whorl, they are common in all hair types and can be managed by working with the hair's natural direction, using styling products, or cutting it to a suitable length.
