Luffy had almost started bouncing in excitement when Ace revealed that he and Ichiji were also on their way to Wano; it was only natural that they went together the rest of the way.

Ace hadn’t stopped smiling and beaming with pride, seeing how the people of Dressrossa united to aid their escape, and how the hundreds of warriors fought to serve under his little brother's name.

“You’re shining,” Ichiji said, his soft voice carried by the ocean breeze. He was leaning over the Bartoclub’s rail, right next to Ace, who snorted at the comment.

“Am I?” he leaned closer to the redhead.

 Ichiji nodded, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this happy before.” he reached out, feeling Ace’s smile with the pads of his fingers.

His hand was trapped in Ace’s, a gentle hold that kept it in place as Ace nuzzled the pale palm.

“I could say the same bout you,” he said, placing a kiss on Ichiji’s hand.

“A lot of good things have been happening recently.”

“They have, haven’t they?” 

Ace’s hands travelled to Ichiji’s waist and dragged him even closer. Automatically, Ichiji’s arms settled on Ace’s shoulders.

“Ew, get a room!”

Ichiji clicked his tongue, trying not to scowl at Niji’s childishness.

“We will!” said Ace, laughing as Niji looked even more disgusted. 

“He needs to mind his own business,” Ichiji complained, still secure in Ace’s hold.

Ace hummed, “We do need to get a room tho, being gawked at by these punks is kinda killing the mood.”

Looking over Ace’s shoulder, Ichiji noticed the not-so-subtle pirates looking at them with stars in their eyes. Ichiji would blast them away if they hadn’t offered to be their ride.
