The people who started Doterra once worked for another oil company... they started off on their own because they wanted to use plants that grew in their native land, not just grow it here in 'similar' conditions. So that's what they did. That's 1 of the many reasons that the oils are so pure. You will find cheaper oils. And they all say "Not safe for human consumption" on them. What I've come to realize is this, if I can't ingest it, I don't want it soaking into my skin/bloodstream. That's why I'm so picky about lotions and cosmetics. Price isn't the only thing that matters (especially as a mom). You might even find a company that makes pure oils that can be ingested, but I can't get toothpaste, protein shake powder, and all of my vitamens and probiotics from them too.
