I didn't catch Travis's reaction to Preston Drowdilon (?) saying he was once a "lord of the crossroads" until watching through clips of the latest session. Do you think Matt just keeps the "throwaway" NPCs in a folder somewhere so he can pull them out years down the road, or is it just because of the connections to Campaign 1?

Travis got it immediately and Marisha and Sam were a great audience for it and the only person who noticed on the other end was Taliesin 😂

But my answer is yes. I think Matt probably has a folder of stuff that's like "events that could come back to haunt them" and this was the perfect time to pull this one out. I don't think it's just campaign 1 either. He probably has stuff like this he could pull from either campaign. And even EXU.

I cannot stop thinking about how sad it was that Dorian was so ready to ‘do what needed to be done’ and give up the thing he was clearly the most excited to take part in. Gives me some big bad vibes over how often that phrase was probably bandied at him back home, and makes me even sadder to think that after running away to try to be himself he still finds himself in the same cycle of being what people want or expect of him instead.

I hope he gets the chance to wear his actual outfit someday too.

Ratanish seemed like he was being pretty tactical during the ball, showing up with his crew looking like what they are, causing a stir, being polite and dancing with Laudna even though he's a follower of the Raven Queen, being polite to Ashton and only escalating to removing the mask when it was clear Ashton wasn't going to give him anything, and Ratanish clearly knew the duelling rules well because when Ashton didn't escalate again he justified the duel by saying that Ashton's first slap could count as instigation and his slap was in reply

I think he's trying to show that the Paragon's Call are a tough bunch who can help with the situation but that they will work within the rules and aren't violent brutes

I want to know if a duel was always part of the plan, did Ratanish have a plant that was going to pick a fight with him at some point, or is he just taking advantage of this opportunity

It's gonna be fun to see if Ashton can break that polite mask
