#craft help

I need some advice. I made this Red Hood helmet for fun using cardboard and pure scotch tape, and I want to improve it. I’m done with the structure and everything most likely, but I don’t know how to finish it. Is there any way to cover it and make the texture smoother? Paper mache? Plaster? I want to paint it red and use something over all the cardboard because of uneven-ish surfaces and gaps, but can’t figure out what would be best. Any ideas?

I also want to be able to cover the eye holes with something white, but still see through. Are there any materials that might work for that?

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! And any opinions on the type of paint would be great as well.

I REQUIRE ASSISTANCE FROM THE DIY SIDE OF TUMBLR

so I came home after the last month-ish of college, and found most of my succulents near-death. This is because my mother is great with plants that are NOT succulents, and believed that the succulents required the same type of care her plants did (chemical treatments and all). Naturally, she has lost plant-sitting privileges and will not be permitted visitation rights.

I do, however, have to bring my plants to school with me now (at the end of the summer). I would LOVE any ideas on how to build a easy-to-disassemble plant shelf for my babies that is able to fit in your average dorm room (maybe even our common room, should my suite mates agree).

Any and all advice is GREATLY appreciated!!!

How hard would it be to make an animal mask......İ want to make either a Ram or a deer mask. The idea stuck on my head and İ want to do it....

Does anyone have any good advice for a first timer? I'm pretty crafty but by no means a textiles expert, so let me know what you've learned while starting out so I don't have to make the same mistakes!

Does anybody know if there’s a name for the hoops kinda like key rings that are flat on one side for crafting? Like they kinda look like a “D” I want to add ribbon to a shirt to “lace” up the sides and I need these things, but I don’t know what to call em.

No matter what I search the internet is telling me that I want earrings. I don’t want fucking earrings.

Does anyone know where i can get or how to make a Nepeta tail?

I changed my cos lineup for con im going to despite only having a few days, so i probably shoudlnt order a tail. (it probably wouldnt arrive in time so ordering online is probably a bad idea) So i should probably make one but idk how to, please please give ideas or tell me different ways to make tails!! (i do also need a hat but its ok if i cant get one in time cause ill just be seek the highblood Nepeta when she doesnt want her hat back from Equius after roleplaying as each other cause he got the hat all gross and sweaty)
