Attila is in Atilinya country....an ancestral spirit who is said to live in the springs in and around the mountain" Tamara's practice engages with the natural environment recreating the images and shapes in her embroidered works in both 2 and 3D form. Her work looks at slowing down and portraying her concerns around social issues including the environment, climate change and the treatment of asylum seekers. Craft Contemporary (1–31 October) is Craft Victoria’s annual festival amplifying the practice of craft in a state-wide gathering of talks, live demonstrations, exhibitions and more. Contemporary expressions of craft are explored within gallery, retail, educational and public spaces, calling attention to its ubiquitous and engaging presence.
