Oh no, I didn't know everything about the Tumblr update is much worse than I thought (*I'll explain now based on my experience from before all this happened until now).
I can confirm that I came across it in September, saw the notes feature, and thought it was "good."
However, I couldn't really test it much because, on the web (I prefer using the web version), they quickly changed that feature to be more "Twitter-like" in case someone saw it from there (imitating other features like YouTube did with Instagram Reels, which were based on TikTok).
For me, I've been using that feature for quite a while now. I can confirm that I liked seeing everything together better, but oh well, I had "settled" for it, since I thought they were "just" testing a feature, like YouTube sometimes does (the notes feature was still available in the app).
Until a few months ago, I saw that feature in the app (I also thought they were testing it), but now I see that they've officially implemented and announced it (this isn't new).
*I should mention that this is just what I've heard, I might be wrong about something.
It bothers me that someone can't see if someone else has commented and all the likes go to the other person without the original commenter even knowing.
The idea is that if I want to like/reblog/comment on something, it's to support the person, not so I get notifications and the account doesn't know anything about how their post is performing.
Honestly, I doubt they'll change it (the same thing happened with Roblox, lots of complaints but in the end, the CEO didn't revert the change), but hey, you never lose hope that the staff will notice this if a lot of people are commenting about it, maybe they'll reconsider the option.
Ultimately, this platform is sustained by its people and community. If you're here, it's for a reason, and you know what you like.
