What is leverage about

Robin-Hood style “steal from the rich and give to the poor” except in the process of stealing from the rich you also destroy them completely, expose them to the world as evil, and probably send them to jail.

It’s mostly fun vibes with a group of criminals that decided to stick together because this was the first chance they got to be good and they found that they actually really like being good. And they like being good together. And they become family to each other.

They are all really good at what they do and now they are learning from each other in beautiful ways. It’s got the absolute best character growth for the crew, which doesn’t get randomly walked back for Drama. All the characters are amazing, but I also don’t want this answer to be super long, so I’ll leave it at this 😂

You know, its funny, cause I've "met" Ghost a few months ago for real, after seeing the name floating around for a big while but never bothering to go check. What made me check was a vid of a guy saying that "Ghost is like Bon Jovi but goth". Thoughts on Klaus

ooooohg klaus my beloved.... I'm going to assume you mean klaus hargreeves since he's the only klaus I'm, like, INSANE about

honestly I'm just..... I remain enamoured by how much potential is packed into this character. the show itself even says it! as of season 1, klaus IS the future of the show, he's the way you get at the themes, the way you make five realise that saving their family ISN'T just about being nicer to viktor, it's about ALL of them. I would have loved it so so so much if we got to see klaus come into his powers, realise he can do so much more than see ghosts that it's almost comical - and also for his family to realise, like with viktor, what klaus has been going through. that his very existence is so incredibly overwhelming and he doesn't know how to control it and that doesn't make him weak, it means he's lost and needs help - needs his family, because who else in the world is capable of helping these people?

personally, I think what draws me to klaus the most is... well, season one in general, it's about needing to take responsibility for your life, right? they all need to do it, they've all ended up falling down this hole in one way or another. it seems like The Dark Timeline, with five gone and ben dead and the rest being this gigantic mess. because they weren't given a chance, their own father refused to give them a chance. he ruined them. and now they're grown up, and he's gone, and it's his fault they're like this, and they don't know what to do about that but they know they HAVE to do SOMETHING. that's the POINT. it's such a raw story, it really puts the characters and what they've been through and where they're going at the forefront, and I think that's why tumblr was so obsessed with season 1 of the umbrella academy. it was basically custom-made in a lab for people to write post-canon fics about where characters heal from their trauma and play board games or something

but klaus - I mean, none of them really WANT to do the work. but klaus REALLY doesn't want to. he complains, he's stuck in this groove of giving up as soon as it gets hard, this whole 'trying' thing is HARD and it would be so much easier to just go back to what he was doing before - klaus doesn't even care when he dies and temporarily goes to the afterlife, that's how hopeless his life, who he is as a person, seems to him. he doesn't want to grow. he doesn't think he can, he thinks he's incapable of it, because no one's ever believed in him. (ben does, I guess, but ben's dead, what's he gonna do about it? from klaus's perspective, it's just another reminder of his own uselessness; it's not like any of the others believe him that ben is there)

and what I love about this, all of this characterisation, the apathy, how much klaus DOESN'T WANT TO - but he still HAS to. he has to get up and do it, because dying isn't an option (because five will fight the world to keep these idiots alive, and five has time travel, there's no escaping him), and if he DOES? if klaus DOES manage it, DOES capture that potential? I can't even put into words how bright he would be. all that potential, all that ability, it was there all along, and if klaus just goes looking for it, if he just leans into it and TRIES, he can become someone he WANTS to be. someone he LIKES being. it's just such a raw character, such a rarely realistic portrayal of what truly being an adult MEANS to a lot of people, what owning up to living your own life LOOKS and FEELS like. it's not big and flashy. even with the superpowers, it's just life. it's figuring out how to be a person

I adore it. I ADORE the season 1 iteration of this character, and all of this messaging is baked so deeply into the DNA of how klaus as a character was constructed for the show, that they had to stop taking klaus seriously as a character IMMEDIATELY after season 1 the SECOND they decided to start working towards that horrible ending. because klaus's very existence proves it wrong. he does, just by being there. he literally CAN'T die, he's not ALLOWED to, he HAS to get up because that's the only way forward. that's the only answer. you can't give up and die, you can't stop trying, because this is YOUR life. and you HAVE to keep living it. you have to. there's no other choice.

She collected and glued all the pieces together and kept the bones for as long as necessary. They shared a body and talked through letters and recordings. Fucking PAUL happened. A few months ago you reblogged someone else's ask, where the person was responding an anon (I think? I lost the post) about this one book series, and was making a few comparisons to tlt I terms of complexity and development of plot.

The point is that I did not read most of the ask, save for the series' name and that it reminded the person of tlt for whatever reason, and went completely blind after it, like a normal person. I like being surprised I guess.

I had to hunt down but I found all the books (five total) and wrapped up the last one yesterday. I was excited to come back home from work everyday so I could read it before bed and. There's no more.

The series is A Chorus Of Dragons by Jenn Lyons, and I'm just. Why is making me feel all of this. Is pride month. At least everyone is bisexual.

It took me approximately 87 thousand years to track down that post because I stupidly did not originally tag it with the series name and tumblr's search function was performing characteristically abysmally, but @lexalovesbooks was the one who pitched it to me! They mentioned it in the tags on a reblog about books that share Qualities with The Locked Tomb and I had sent a follow-up ask requesting a pitch and CLEARLY they knocked it out of the park! And then the end of the book arrives and from then on is just backwards. Oh my god processing these books means being constantly bombarded with realizations, and many are kinda painful.

The thing that's killing me about the idea of Pyrrha holding Gideon until she stops struggling is the way it's an exact mirror image reflection of Harrow only struggling against Gideon in the pool once she realizes she's being held and not drowned !!!!!!!

Omg your jaw. How is it.

Omg it’s doing okay! I haven’t had any more bone shards since like late February, which is the longest I’ve gone without since this whole thing started, and hopefully there won’t be any more!

The clenching still sometimes gets painful if I have a day with more caffeine, stimulant meds, or stress (in any combination) but even so it’s not as bad as it was before. A few months ago I had another round of Botox injections and he did one massive dose rather than splitting it into two smaller doses on different dates - it did end up bruising my face a bit but it went away eventually (as most bruises do lol). I noticed that as it was kicking in it did seem to make the clenching worse at first and I had more headaches but once it was fully active it was better. I also ended up getting a mouth guard for sleeping “just in case” since I don’t really clench my jaw while I’m sleeping. Insurance fought my dentist on that but did eventually give in. I haven’t been able to actually wear it to sleep because it’s not super comfy but I do sometimes pop it in to give my jaw a break when the clenching is worse ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
