Look random, I’ve tried, but Cranq is full of excuses. Something about “wife” and “job” and “kids”... I think it’s some sort of code. You know how mysterious he can be.

Firstly, thanks for all of your awesome blog posts! I perused your FAQ section and my jaw just about unhinged at the wealth of information sitting there. Secondly, (this may seem weird) but do you and Cranquis and all the other medblrs actually know each other IRL? I'm a first year med student and I feel like I keep finding medblrs on tumblr that are already part of this giant network and know each other. Is there a secret initiation process to join?

Oh yeah, we all actually live together in a medblr commune. Cranquis and I live in the big house, of course, which has been lovingly nicknamed Crayfaring Manor. 

Not really though. Some of us communicate outside our blogs with texts, emails, Skype, etc. Some of us have met each other in real life. I won’t say who has met who just for the protection of the identities of everyone involved. But none of us knew each other before Tumblr with the exception of modernathena90 and baking-bull I believe. 

There definitely is an initiation process, though it is not a secret. Here’s how you join the club:

follow some medblrs

add your name to the Giant Medblr Spotlight list so people can find your blog

comment on / reblog and add to their posts frequently

ask them questions

send them fanmails just to say hello and chat, and learn about their lives. eventually you will build relationships with folks and get to know them better.

write some good original premed/med school/medicine in general stuff on your own blog, put good tags on it (like #medblr or #premed or #medschool) and get reblogged or followed.

Get bonus cool points from me for submitting a Morning Report post to the PMTH blog.

A Very Crayfaring Christmas, Part I

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through PMTH

Not a patient was stirring, not even in psych.

Bags of saline were hung by the interns with care,

In fear that Dean Wayfaring would soon be there;

The patients were nestled all snug in their beds,

While dilaudid induced dreams danced in their heads;

And Wayfaring in her white coat, with Cranquis in tow

Had assembled the interns, to pimp them until red their cheeks glow

When out of the ICU there arose such a clatter,

Cranquis screamed, "Somone better go see what's the matter"
