Back when i came out to my family and friends as aroace, mosy them were pretty accepting, but it came with a bunch of "oh don't worry im sure youll find the right person" and "but you love romance stories", after a bit of explaining, most of them were somewhat understanding so it was cool.

But the best reaction i ever got was from what of my best friends who just said "oh yeah i saw it coming because four years ago at the summer camp you asked "how do people even know when theyre in love?" And after that i kinda just expected youd figure it out eventually"

When most people were trying to reasdure me for something i wasnt worried about or were surprised or didn't beleive me, she just said "oh yeah i knew that lol" and i think it really was the kind of approval i needed at the time

one time i went on a date to this italian restaurant (i’m italian, so already emotionally invested), and i was with this guy i really liked. we ordered the same dessert but when they brought them out, mine had hearts all over it and looked way nicer than his. then the chef comes out. like, comes out of the kitchen (literally 30 and flirty) and starts full on flirting with me at the table…in front of my date. my date was so mad😭 and the next day, he blocked me. all because my dessert was prettier and the chef wanted my number 💔
