Don't have enough thank you's for all you people who send money /food and supplies and those who bring them to India!! Soni, who has kidney failure has been very fussy about eating food. She needs a fme (full mouth extraction) but before that I need to get her to start eating wet food. There are only two that she eats. I have tried Whiskas, sheba, bellota trays, applaws, royal canin pouches, schesir, almost everything that is available!! But with the dental extraction, I will have to make sure the food is soft and palatable for her. There were some medicines too which I needed. Surabhi was traveling to India, so Stacey and Lalitha both sent the supplies to her and she got them home. I do buy sheba melty sticks for the cats, but the way they eat the churu sticks is a pleasure to watch. You can see Buddhu, the old man enjoying his churu. After being fed a couple of times, he just stayed outside the house. Slowly he moved in. Though he was not neutered, he didn't fight with anyone. Would eat and sleep and do his business outside. Every now and then he would get ear infections and maggots. After he got neutered, things got better. But he has some viral infection, which my vet says is most likely calici, which causes mouth ulcers. He drools and stinks and leaves a mess all over where he sleeps. At times i get angry because I have just cleaned and put new covers for the cat beds and he has left drool all over!! He also would be covered in fleas, which somehow never went even after applying revolution. He would always get it back. I know I haven't been fair to him but I also know that no one else would have taken him in. He doesn't like being petted. You can touch his forehead but not anywhere else. He is difficult to give medicines to. Whenever he is sick, I always have to ask the vet to prescribe injections because if I try to pill him, he scratches and bites. With him having oral infection and me being heavily diabetic, it would be risky for my life too. Even now when he is being treated, he will sit and take his Saline patiently. He had stopped eating few days ago and after the medication, has now gone back to normal. HE LOVES FOOD, is an understatement!! Today he has been roaming around and came home only at night. Came and sat next to me. I petted him and kissed him too. This was his response..
