The New Age character introductions
Angel has been living on the streets since she was a teenager, her developing powers scaring her away from her family. She doesn’t open up easily, but when she sees a young girl being kidnapped, she knows she has no choice but to jump into action. Suddenly, people are counting on her to be a hero, Sailor Nyx, and even though she pretends otherwise, she doesn’t want to let them down.
Beth grew up to be a good Christian girl, never stealing or cheating or doing anything that would make her bad in the eyes of God. Unfortunately, all that changed when she started getting powers as a sailor soldier. She was quickly called a heretic and a devil child by her teachers and so-called friends, causing her to run away from home. She tried to make her way to California, only to be kidnapped by an organization that hoped to harness of the power of all sailor soldiers. Her kidnappers took her to New York, but she was rescued by Minako, Angel, and Katie. She and the other kidnapped girls were taught to use their powers, Beth as Sailor Ophelia. However, she's having a hard time accepting her powers and that they go against everything she was taught as a child.
Carmen isn’t a hero. She’s a private eye, and when a group of new heroes show up looking suspiciously like the Japanese sailor soldiers, she can’t help but throw herself into the investigation, which leads her right to the doorstep of one Minako Aino. Now, she’s determined to protect the heroes, no matter what it takes.
Ellis was raised knowing there was something special about her. People in her family remembered, somehow, a time when there was life on other planets. Over time it was brushed off as just a bunch of stories, but something in Ellis told her otherwise. When a group of girls go missing in New York City, she finds herself following after, only to get caught up in the world of the sailor senshi.
Katie was just a regular girl, a dance student at NYU, until she started getting visions of Sailor Venus in New York. When she actually shows up, Katie realizes there’s something special about her, and it’s connected to Minako Aino. Now how to find her...
Lei doesn’t know what drew her to New York for university. She just knew she had to be there. Fat lot of good that did when she gets kidnapped by a cult and liberated by the sailor senshi from Japan she’s heard rumors of. After that, she’s faced with a choice: go back to university and pretend nothing happened, or spend her nights honing her power over lightning and fight the forces of darkness.
Sadie knew there were consequences to running away. Getting kidnapped by magical terrorists, saved by a sailor soldier, and becoming a sailor soldier herself were not on the list of things she considered. Too late to turn back now, right? Maybe it’s time to learn about Sailor Jupiter and how Sadie is expected to fight for her, even though they’ve never met.
Taru doesn't exactly fit in in Tokyo... for obvious reasons. Her mom moved to Japan before Taru was born with her boyfriend (not Taru's father), only for them to break up by the time Taru was a year old. By that point, Taru had her mom's boyfriend's family name and no actual Japanese heritage. Family day was fun as a kid. As Taru grew older, she looked into who her birth father was and discovered he was a racing legend, one about to be usurped by Haruka Tenoh, a brilliant upstart. Thus began Taru's obsession with racing, though she never quite understood her obsession with Haruka in particular. That is, until meeting her in person.
