i have a thousand short story ideas clawing at my brain right now, but apparently i “have to study” and “pass exams” and “get a degree.”
deeply disrespectful, that.

*Looking at the same drawing I've been erasing and re-drawing for ten minutes* This is shit. I am shit.
*Looking at the same page of writing I've been erasing and re-writing for the past hour* I'm sure I'll get it soon. It'll come to me. My muse has never failed before.
i dont even wanna calculate how many hours this took.
probably like 19
BUT UTS DONE!!
this is my version of The Seesaw by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. lesbians.
last-week-me really thought that present-me would make sense of the mad scribbling in the middle of the page.
i distinctly remember thinking “this new plot idea is genius.”
unfortunately, i can’t read my frantic handwriting, nor remember a single thing about this so-called “genius new plotline.”
who invented grammatical rules and why did that person hate me so much?? like what did i personally do to deserve this level of suffering
uh oh where did all my original thoughts go???!!!
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulation. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our Northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his "I Have A Dream" speech
