Medieval au headcanon; Momo and Todoroki were engaged, but it didn't amount to anything. They escaped the arranged marriage trope, haha.

The marriage would have been an economic and political move within the kingdom, uniting the crown prince with the daughter of one of the country's best merchants (dedicated to selling metals, cough cough: weapons).

And yes, Momo has that revealing dress because of her parents. I did it on purpose to demonstrate the kind of authority her parents have over her. Poor Momo.

Shouto, though his father's favorite, is just as, if not more, tied to economic and political matters than Momo herself. This led them to become close friends within their respective social circles.
