headcanon that when Kaeya was younger, he was hesitant to eat any food the Ragnvindr’s gave him for fear it was dangerous/had been tampered with. And when Crepus realized, he started taking a bite out of Kaeya’s food to show Kaeya it was safe everytime they ate

Young Diluc didn’t know why his dad did it, but he also started doing it as he figured whatever it was, it made Kaeya feel safer

this continued on subconsciously into their teen years. whenever they sat down to ate, Diluc would always take a bite of Kaeya’s food before Kaeya ate. People always just thought they were being typical brothers and that Diluc was stealing Kaeya’s food

then one day when their adults, Diluc does it subconsciously and everyone at the table (save for Kaeya) freezes

Everyone:

Diluc: what?

Amber: you just ate Sir Kaeya’s food??

Diluc:

Kaeya, who didn’t even realize till Amber brought it up:

Diluc: uh

number one pet peeve about the Mond characters in genshin is that barely anyone ever stops and thinks:

"Oh, Crepus's death must have affected Kaeya just like it affected Diluc!"

Thinking about how most men don’t start growing facial hair until they’re in their early twenties so Crepus probably never got that father-son moment of teaching either of his boys how to shave.

Imagine Kaeya going to Varka for advice and Varka being his usual charismatic self. Probably teasing Kaeya that if he’s a real knight, he should be skilled with blades no matter if it’s swords or the razors of a shaver. Maybe after Kaeya got the hang of it, Varka would reminisce how particular Crepus was his shaving routine, how he would only use a high quality razor from Fontaine to clean up his sides.

Then cut to Diluc, still a long ways from Mondstadt on his own with no one to turn to, trying to figure it out. He probably started growing stubble along his chin and began finding it annoying and itchy as all hell. With trying to lay low, he attempted to shave it with a pocket knife only to nick himself in the process. It was only after he returned home that he actually learned how to maintain it by Elzer or even Adelinde.

Kaeya never got to see the Fontaine razor as Diluc probably auctioned it off like the rest of Crepus’ belongings.
