We picked this up at GoodWill I think because we were like whaaaaaaaat is this?

It's. It's Cribbage. And Golf.

Look at this ridiculous thing. The golf course is a cribbage board. The pegs are golf tees. We only played it once but I remember there being more to it than Cribbage With a Cute Board. Like there's Golf Stuff happening too it's so silly...

I am teaching the Offspring Cribbage to improve the old "adding to 15" skills. We should play this. It might be the most ridiculous game I own.

EDIT: it comes with proprietary golf pencils but not proprietary playing cards (just regular playing cards)

So everyone on this website is probably familiar with balatro but they might be less familiar with an older card game, cribbage:

I won't bother recounting all the rules of Cribbage, you can study it yourself. Like Balatro, it does use the poker card scoring system, but there are many other ways of scoring. So It would be interesting if Balatro was combined with Cribbage in order to create a PvP poker roguelike.

Below are some rudimentary ideas for this hybrid:

Players have to share a deck but not their joker/planetary/tarot cards with each other. Balatro Blind Conditions are inflicted on the first player to make a lap around the pegboard and then on all runner-ups. Whichever player is in the lead gets to open booster packs and use tarot cards to modify the communal deck. But the players chasing after them get more joker and planetary cards, so that they can adapt to changes. All players discards are given to one player to make their crib, so everyone should be more cautious about what they throw away.
